Semi Automatic Covers
Easy to Use
Where it’s not possible to provide an electrical supply for a fully automatic system, or where budget contraints mean you need a more cost effective option, a semi-automatic cover is the solution. These covers seal the pool in exactly the same way, but instead of the hydraulic system driving the cover on and off, a drive mechanism is installed that is operated by two “ski poles”. The action required to open the pool is a back and forth motion rather like the action required for skiing - hence the name - but it’s far less strenuous! The pool’s safety is assured and you always have the option of upgrading to a fully hydraulic system at a later date should you so choose.
Benefits and Features
The benefit of this type of cover is that it’s easily upgraded to a hydraulic system should you choose to do so, yet it offers all of the benefits and features shown of the hydraulic system. The upgrade only requires changing the gearbox to a hydraulic unit; the cover and track remain the same, so the work is normally completed within half a day. Although the cost is a few hundred pounds dearer than a full automatic system would have been in the first place, it gives you the option to spend the additional cost when finances permit, rather than having to sacrifice safety by not having a cover during the interim period. The only difference between the semi-automatic and the fully automatic hydraulic system is that you supply the motive power!
Installation Options
The cover is available as pit or bench mounted, top track, flush track, or under cope.
